Ever since I bought a Macbook Pro, one of the features I have enjoyed is keeping my desktop clean and having the shortcuts dock I unfortunately use my desktop which is a vista machine more than my macbook pro. So I have been in search of a shortcut icon dock that works like the Apple leopard shortcut dock. There are several ones you can pay for but the other day I came across RocketDock. It works very similar to the Apple’s Leopard version and is very smooth with Vista (well at least on my machine). Check it out. Also has several other features that are exclusive to Vista. This is highly recommended freeware. Donate if you like it.

The Windows Vista Service Pack 1 has been available for about a week now. If you haven’t received the update direct your Internet Explorer browser to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/. You can download the standalone updater from here x86, x64

If your not sure if you have the update Right Click My Computer -> My Properties -> Operation System, if it doesn’t have SP1, that means you need the update

Microsoft has said that it will offer a Vista upgrade coupon that will allow anyone that purchases a PC/laptop in the upcoming month to upgrade to Vista for free or a discounted price (determine by the PC manufacture). This is an excellent move for Microsoft and will help PC makers while the holiday season is right around the corner. Expected release of Vista is January 2007, the date is not finalized.
